I just acquired another project that came with truck heads.
Mortec says: 3933148....69-84...oval...OPEN...'69 396/265hp, 366T, 427T, 112cc chamber
They look like "normal" oval port heads. Anybody have any comments good or bad as far as these and how they will be for a performance application. Just looking to build a real peppy :D street motor.

Lance,those heads are fine for street motor..they are large ovals,but say "truck" no biggie.A few years back,I had a stock 396/265 HP 2 bbl motor..added a mild cam and stock 4 bbl. intake/QJet and it ran great.

Yep that's what I'm thinking. Little port and polish type cleanup and they'll be good to go. I did a search on the web for the number and half the sites say closed chamber and half say open chamber. They look like closed chamber to me :( Strange.

A few years back,I had a stock 396/265 HP 2 bbl motor..added a mild cam and stock 4 bbl. intake/QJet and it ran great.That is exactly what we are running in my Dad's 'vert. 396/265hp, w/ a Performer, Edelbock 750, and an old Blue Racer 204/214 @ 0.050", .476"/500" hyd cam. Runs real nice for a "small" BBC.
