My choke is wired by a piggyback from the TCS relay mounted above the HEI. I am removing all the TCS wiring and was wondering if I can use the wire running from the bulkhead to the relay to power the choke. This is the way it currently gets power.

The choke has been working fine wired this way. Just wondering if it's OK to wire it this way. I am not in a position to test when this TCS power is hot or not. I am assuming you want the choke power wire hot when key is in start and run positions?

Yes, you can wire the choke to the TCS power feed wire. The only problem that comes to mind is that on a 70 the TCS is powered through the a the 25 amp A/C fuse. Top right fuse of the fuse block. If you don't have A/C replace the fuse with a 5 or 10 amp. With a 25 amp fuse a short in that wire will melt the insulation before blowing the fuse.

Thanks, Elree.

I have A/C with a seized compressor. I'll replace the fuse like you mentioned.
