Hey, my name is James. I recently aquired 2 (4 bolt main 350's). I want to make a 383 daily driver with one and now living on my own, financially the other will sit. Anyways, I haven't bought anything because I've been reading millions of articles and posts trying to find a good combination. Here's where I'm at.
4-bolt main, all machine work in process (.030' over bore and hone align honed and square decked)
(eng. ser. #'s 14016379, and 3970010)
Crank-HELP
Rods-HELP (six inch length)
Pistons-JE inverted dome stroke 3.75, 8.7 CR dome volume= -28.0
rings-speed pro chromolly
Heads-Brodix -8pro, dart pro 1 ( how much is too much cc runners .185, .200 combustion chamber 2.02, 2.05 intake)
Cam- custom ground around all other specs.
Rockers- Help
lifters- help

Maybe I need some places to read more info. But so many companies who's good?
All components are compadable or need to be for turbo. Will running turbo parts be unefficient w/o a turbo for now. Thanks, the Grasshoppa needs some guidence

Ok to your other Q's-

CRANK- forged somthing. How much money you want to spend?
RODS- Id stay away from aluminum's. Other then that choose a fav rated for your power level when you finally get that turbo.
HEADS- dart pro 1's are good, AFR's are good. How high do you plan on revving? Id say somthing like a 200-220cc intake would be good.
ROCKERS- Again, choose a fav full roller IMO. I like comp cams because they aren't aluminum.
LIFTERS- get a matched set from your cam manufacturer.

I want a turbo setup, but I don't want to wait a long time before I drop in the engine. Is that what I have to do or will the roughness be ok for a while? I want to save money where I can, and I want to drop it in sooner rather than later but I live by (hp's cost money). I won't sacrifice hp and quality with cheap stuff. I read something on AFR's website that said not to port match your manifold to there felpro gasket.
(Important: Do not port match you intake manifold to this Fel-Pro gasket, as they do not exactly fit AFR heads.)
How do you match them together?
I want not to exceed 6500.
What stroke crank do I get?
