My son put a newly rebuilt 12 bolt in his 69 Chevelle mild 454 4spd. It goes without saying that going from a 253 to a 373 posi was a big change. However, we goofed in reusing the old axles.

The tire guy putting on new wheel and tires caused two lug nuts to get loose. I doubt it was his fault.

I believe the axles were from a corvette.

Is there any option other that new axles?

Here you go http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_608668_-1 That is a link to a pair at JEG's for $209 . What's wrong with the old axles? They make axle-saver bearings if the original surface is scarred. Hey I though Tom needed some control arms? I offered a pair up for free, if you still need them let me know.

Corvettes don't have axles. They have independant rear suspension. What is wrong with the axles that you have? I have some options for new axles if you are interested.
