: 65 or 66 Front Brake Line Routing

Just got new front brake lines for my car. Two shorter lines from the master cylinder to the block on the frame fit perfectly. The line that goes to the passenger side has a few more bends and twists and is a bit longer than what I had on. Looks like the only way I can get it to fit is to run the line under the frame between the lower rear control arm bracket and the coil spring then up and back to the top of the frame.

Tag on lines says 65/66 Chevelle SuperSport. My car is a 65 Chevelle SS Convertible. When I received the box from OPGI, Fedex had damaged it so I am not sure if I do have an extra (uneeded) bend).

Can anyone post a picture or send me a link to one?

Big Block cars had a different brake line routing on the front passenger side than the small block cars. Since the part you purchased is listed for a 66 SS, which only had big block engines then I suspect you have the big block lines. Your 65 SS would be a small block so the original brake line could be different from what you bought.

Thought that might be the issue....does anyone have a pic or diagram showing the routing?

I think I can make this work...but I may have an exta bend or two from shipping damage?

Do you have a 65 Assembly Manual? Does it have Z16 information. If so, the Z16, may have used the same routing and there would be a diagram in the assembly manual. Otherwise, my 66 Assembly manual has the diagram or I may already have a photo of the routing on my El Camino. I could check on that this evening and post a picture for you if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I scanned a page from my 66 Assembly manual but it lost a lot of detail when I made it small enough to fit. I hope it's good enough for you. The two additional clips are part number 3753771.

Perfect...exactly what I needed. I did have an extra bend from shipping damage but got it straightened and fits perfect.

Thanks very much.
