Got my motor installed with headers. I had removed the oil filter prior to installation. Tried yesterday to go back with a Napa Gold #1069 filter and cannot get it to fit between header tubes without crushing the filter. Also will not fit up between block and headers.

Car is 69 Chevelle with 396 & Muncie (and lakewood BH).

Anyone know # for a different filter that will fit without dinging the headers?

Well, looks like I got to the bottom of this myself..PF454 worked, I was able to sandwich it between the header tubes and get it on there. PF1218 was too long and so was the NAPA 1069.

I use the AC Delco used to be PF35,,,new number now,its the longer filter and I have no problem getting the filter in or out with Dynomax coated headers.

Here too. Maybe the Lakewood BH is the difference maker.
