Well we rebuilt my carb, had been sitting for about 6 years, and i bought it from a swap meet. I ran it for 6 months when i first bought it, then we rebuilt it and when we were setting the idle/mixture screws the passenger side was really loose, i said whatever and just drove, well it seems that its so loose that the vibrations from the motor are unscrewing it and messing up my mixture. Is there a rubber bushing that is supposed to go in there or are the threads just stripped, and if its stripped threads What do i do?? I haven't completly taken out this screw and i don't think its really just a screw but some special carb part.
Please help thanks.
Sounds like you forgot the cork washers when you rebuilt the carb...

I have those little cork washers, didn't know what they did. THANKS! i will take out the screw and clean out whats left of the old one and put in a new one.
Nice page on 4160 rebuild. One thing, NEVER USE TEFLON TAPE ON FLARE NUTS! The flare nuts do no do anything to seal they just hold the pipe against the flare which does the sealing. Teflon tape MAY be OK on pipe threads but should be confined to the household pipe threads not automotive use.

What you do with them, is screw the screw into them until the threads just barely begin to come through; then push the cork thing and the screw into the hole; then tighten the screw until it bottoms, and back it back out to a reasonable starting adjustment. 1½ turns out should get it close enough to at least start up and run.
