i was wondering if there was a way to tell the ss guage harnesess from each other? i have 3 or 4 of them not sure what yr there for, i see numbers on the fuse block on a few of them.

Yr or yrs of harnesses? Engine, FWD lamp, or dash harnesses? One way to tell gauge harnesses (SS or not) is the amp gauge wiring. One lead will be a small black w/white strip which that color combo is not used on anything else.

i have 3 or 4 of the dash harnesses, one thing i know for sure is that there ss harnesses just not sure if 70, 71, 72 ? and if ss with or without idiot light.

Round guge harnesses will have connector that plugs into PCB, sweep harnesses will not. Look for amp gauge wiring to tell is gauges or idiot light. 72 should have seat belt warning wires. There may be other differences, maybe Steve S or Elree will post.

A 70 harness has the TCS and A/C fuse together on the top of the right column of the fuse block. It also has a black wire with a metal ring for the cig lighter ground.

A 71 and 72 has the TCS and radio fuse together. They also have a plastic connector with the orange power wire and a black wire for the cig lighter.

A 72 has four wires in the wiper switch connector, 70 and 71 have three.

SS idiot light will have 10 wires in the gauge connector. Tach/Gauges will have all 12 filled with wires. I have seen some 72's without the seat belt light but all 72's have the TCS relay and key minder buzzer in the underdash harness.

Ok all of my harnesses have the 4 wires for for the wiper switch, 1 is for guages, the other 3 are for idiot lights.
