Ok I am dying to put in some new seats in my car. I really want to get some 99 or newer corvette seats to put in place of my seats now. What would be required to do this? I know the corvette frames are super low and wil practically sit on the floor, jsut wondering if someone makes a kit or fabs new frames up or If I can use my old frame and mount them to the new seats. Any help would be appreciated greatly. thanks Oh and I am a newbie.

I've often thought about doing the same thing - both front and back seats. If you decide to do something like this, take pictures and let us know what you came up with.

I'd use your original floor brackets and try to mount the Corvette seats to them.

I think that's pretty much what will have to happen. I am going to just do the buckets. I really thought someone would make adapters for this but I guess not. thanks guys

i used to have a f_ _ d ranger that i swapped the bench seat out of for some random bucket seats. to raise the brackets so the seat wouldnt sit so low i just took some 1x1 square stock and drilled holes threw it stacking them up to raise the seat an inch at a time where needed. it was a little ghetto but the truck was something of a beater. (only thing a ford is good for) but im sure the same thing could work for this.

Well this is a investment so I want to do it right and look good. It's all up in the air for now.

I think you will need to fab something. I seriously doubt that anyone makes adapters to mount vette seats in a Chevelle, I don't think it is all that popular of a mod. Most people seem to stick with the original or go with the Summit seats. Shouldn't be too hard to fab up.

I have 84-88 Corvette bucket seats in my 71 Chevelle. I bought the two piece brackets that are welded to my floor. The frame on the bottom of the seat was larger than the brackets and holes on the floor, but just on the other side of the hole so I used a larger washer to overlap the bracket. Since Corvette seats normally sit in a 'hole' in the floor, they don't have a skirt around them and the frame shows. I will make something to cover mine or just buy some newer seats later on when I finally get it painted.

I've got 2001 Camaro seats in my car. I had to fab up a seat mount bracket. Not too hard to do. Just have to lay it out.

How about your old seats? What are you going to do with them? I may be looking for a set.

It's a bench currently, so theirs not much interest for them. I will end up selling my seats when it's time to go.
