Does a 69 chevelle factory air system have a low freon pressure switch in the system to prevent compressor damage?

No, the POA valve and expansion valve handle those duties I believe. Those old compressors aren't designed to cycle. I believe that if they do cycle a lot then the clutch will burn up rather quickly.
