The above is SpeedTech's release. On a personal note, We at GPSuperStore.com have been using and selling SpeedTech products (lots of their Camaro control arms) for a couple years now with fantastic results. I am not going to get into claims of being "the best", I can tell you this. The quality is as good or better then any other arm on the market, including arms that cost way that cost way more. These are stronger and more durable than other products available but not actually designed for street use.

These Control arms will be ready to ship May 15th, 2007 and are offered at a introductory price of $425 + actual shipping exclusively to GPSuperStore.com members. To purchase, E mail sales@GPSuperStore.com or call 407 832 1824

Frank, please don't be offended, but the claim of improved camber curve is not possible from upper A-arms alone. Looks like a nice product, but the only real way to improve the camber curve is by moving upper pickups downward, or increasing the height of the spindle. (and tall spindles won't work well with these because of the balljoint plate angle)

The added caster is a nice benefit for stock height spindles, but for any real handling, the spindle height needs to be addressed.

In response to your comment on our new product as it relates to the camber gain along with caster gain. I understand you point however this is achievable with the upper control arm to some degree but as you have mentioned not nearly as much as if you were to use taller spindles. We are not trying to manufacture a part for the extreme racer because if that were the case then there would have to be other significant modifications to achieve that goal.

Our arms do offer suspension advantages over the stock arms and that is what we were trying to achieve. Offering a control arm that utilizes a taller spindle is an option for some consumers but after having considered all the aspects of that and the additional cost factor to the consumer this was something we were not willing to offer.

Considerable time was taken into designing our products and ensuring that they are safe product. Some arms on the market offer adjustability however for us that were too much of a safety concern and for most drivers once it is set up very few will take advantage of re-adjusting them. Further many customers use there vehicle as a daily driver and I would be surprised to believe that they would frequently check the arms to ensure that nothing came loose. Before looks or performance our biggest concern is the safety of our product.

With these new arms we were able to offer a handling gain and at the same time ensure that our arms are more than twice as strong as an oem arm while coming in at almost the same weight. The ideas when we offer a product is to offer a show quality product for your muscle car and at the same time ensure that it exceeds your expectations in performance and safety. We believe we accomplished this with the new arm.

This arm as an example of several benefits over a stock arm such as;

• Stainless steel cross shafts which are corrosion resistant, great appearance and exceedingly stronger than the oem cross shaft.
• Our arms are align bored after welding to ensure that the cross shaft will not bind.
• We only offer an acetron aluminum bushing for reduced wear and bind. Our acetron is 100% porosity free unlike other brands of acetal this in turn make for a better finished part. The drag coefficient of the acetron is only .25 which is a great improvement alone over stock bushings
• Our wall thickness of the seamless tubing we us is thicker than some other brands of arms on the market but this is what gives the arms its strength. We also bend the arms in house using an nc mandrel bender ensuring that the arms are not distorted there by again keeping the strength of the arm higher. We are not making the arms for nascar, we are offering an arm that once the consumer puts it on his car he does not have to worry about it again.
• The weight of the arm is close to stock
• We offer a billet aluminum ball joint cover, one for appearance and secondly to reduce contaminate
• Improved caster curve and camber curve

I hope this has clarified your comment. Please feel free to drop us a line on our web site at www.speedtech-performance.com we would be glad to answer what we can for you.

Frank your killing my Visa card ;) I will be logging on soon to order a set of these for my 72 El Camino. Any lower arms in the works, maybe some that will accept the QA1 coilovers?

Yes the lowers are following however as it takes time to design the jigs and test the lowers are still about two months away, you will like them though!

Todd, don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the product, just pointing out that the camber curve would be generally unaffected by arms alone when mated to stock pickup points and spindles... I see your point though, that there would be a small amount of camber gain due to the added positive caster, which would help in reducing the effects of the backwards camber curve.

These are a perfect product for those who don't want to spend a lot on the suspension, but would like to at a minimum achieve a decent alignment, since caster is severely limited with stock upper arms.

I thought it would also be a good idea to point out that while these work great with "short" spindles, the angle of the balljoint plate makes them not ideal for those running "tall" spindles... I hate to see people spend money on parts that don't work together.

No offense was taken, you raised a valid point so I felt I needed to try and clarify it. Commnets and suggestions that have merit are always welcome as that is how we as a company can assess what we offer and what we need to do to make things better.
