Sunday morning we got a 911 call 04:57 head on collision BMW vs Honda 22 year old going to work 20 year old going home after visiting friends no evidence of alcohol crossed the center line and hit head on Honda was crushed into the driver's compartment BMW up to firewall only the Honda driver was DOA BMW driver had a sore foot and knee. This is not about the cars it is a reminder for the people who stay up and try to drive and get home. Go home early or take a nap. This guy was the 4th generation with the same name there will be no 5th. Sorry for the rant.

I fell asleep while driving and rolled my truck when I was 17. Needless to say I was very lucky and have since learned my lesson.

I took a cat nap once, but I figured it was okay.. I was on the 101 in CA around 5:30pm I could have taken another couple minutes and still been fine. The car ahead of me had only moved about 2 feet.

took a snooze on the 90 around 3am. 75 with cruise on. woke up when I hit the rumble strip, swiped a mile marker, cranked the wheel, spun it around, looking head-on at a semi, finished out the 360, front-end caught traction and off I went, cruise still set at 75. could have gone a lot worse. I pulled over to gather myself. The truck pulled over, too, take make sure I was all right. After that I promised myself I would always take a nap if need be. My friends laughed at me a couple weeks ago when I stopped at a gas station to sleep for an hour on my way home, but I know better now.

I found out what a bridge does to a Fox body Mustang after taking a nap coming home from skiiing. I made out OK, but my girlfriend had one of those halo braces for 3 months.

that happened to a kid just a mile or two from my house last year. 8am the morning after prom, he fell asleep at the wheel of his grand prix, crossed the centerline and hit an SUV. He died en route to the hospital. No drugs or alcohol.

Thanks John if someone would read this and actually think about it next time it might help. I hope so, it is a tragedy for both families for life.
