I don't think I got any responses to this earlier, but I still would appreciate any info if anyone has any.

I replaced the horn relay and bolted on a horn. When I ground the spring loaded plunger in the steering column, the horn works. So I am that far.

I think what I need is actually called the turn signal cancelling cam, as mine seems to be broken and spins on the shaft.

Is there a wire that goes in there?

What does the spring look like? A regular spring or a flat round piece?

Is there supposed to be a dish shaped metal piece inside the horn button?

This is on a 66 Malibu with, apparnently, the original 66 column shift, non tilt column, and plain two spoke wheel. I have the horn ring, the snap on cover, and the plastic piece with 3 holes/bushings. Something else is still missing.

If someone can tell me what else goes in there, I'd appreciate it and go buy it. My service manuals don't seem to be much help.

Any chance you can disassemble, lay out parts and supply pix?

Problem is that I don't have any parts, and I am not familiar with this type of column. The last horn button I did was on a CJ7.

I have the chrome round cover/horn button, the chrome piece that bolts to the steering wheel, and the plastic two spoke steering wheel. I have the red plastic ring with 3 bolt holes and a broke turn signal cancelling cam.

Can't figure out what else goes in there. Especially the spring?

Gonna be a few days before I can get back to it.
