Yesterday, for the first time in over 10 years, (and the first time since I acquired it), the Grandpa Malibu moved under its own power. I was amazed that after re-plumbing virtually everything that had to do with fluids, there wasn’t a single leak. A check of the electricals found that everything works except the radio (doesn’t even light up); even the sick cow buzzer for when you leave the keys in it. Per my original mission statement, I have managed to keep it as stock as possible. Many thanks to Tony at Restorationpartssouce.com for getting many of the parts, Mark for some blasting on the valve covers and to Dennis for the carb rebuild that I “helped” with. We will be going on a short shakedown cruise later today.
