Anyone run a single plane intake such as a Vic Jr. on a BBC and fit it under a stock hood? Curious as I am thinking of switching, but since I haven't got this whole motor mount deal figured out yet I'm not sure where it is gonna sit.

What year specifically?
I know that 70-72 won't be a problem (SS/domed hood)
And I've seen them on 68 and 69's with SS hoods.

I have a 70 SS with a glass power dome hood from US body source, stock motor mounts, Weiand Team G single plane intake, Holley carb and a 3" dropped base air cleaner. It's tight but if you use Moroso solid mounts it appears to give you another 1/2" clearance.

I have a 68.
Rumblin: I assume you have BBC lower mounts and the BBC Moroso solid uppers? Been messing around with my swap for a bit trying to get the headers to fit with not much luck... I have a small block lower though

If I'm not mistaken, the SBC/BBC for 70's are all the same, only the 307's are different.
I am using the Moroso solid uppers. They look like they are the same height as the stockers, but for some reason I get a 1/2 clearance on the hood and the headers now contact the trans where the didn't before. Go figure.

Ya Know I have spent about 5 hours searching on the topic in a few places and now one seems to really know. I just know the headers I have now dont fit as the engine sits (the sbc lowers or whatever came in the 300 deluxe engine wise in 68) and BBC uppser moroso solid mounts. Gonna try the sbc lowers I think and see what happens. Never would of thought swapping a BBC into a car that originally cam equipped with one would be so hard... not like I'm trying to mount it in a CRX LOL tongue.gif
