Keep in mind that I am a computer semi-illiterate who once deleted DOS becuase it looked like it was a junk file/program.

After bringing my computer back from the dead by reloading everything it all worked well. One of the new things was that when I clicked on the favorites tab for the internet it would show unigue icons for the different favorites like eBay, Team Chevelle, etc., unless none was available. Since reloading I have done some updates and now all the internet icons are generic. I'm sure it makes no performance difference - but what setting allows the specific icons under the favorites tab rather than the generic?

i've always wondered that, too.. sometimes, they just do it all by themselves.

Websites have the option of including the icons in their HTML code. If your browser doesn't display them, something is hosed.

I tried looking "hosed" up in the technical manual but I couldn't find anything :) I'm guessing that some security setting is the culprit.

What you would need to do is as you visit each fav, copy a new fav over the old one and the icon should come back. The icons are in the temporary internet files folder. Since you reloaded the computer (i assume you mean reformat) and if you reloaded the favs, most likely the icons wern't saved. They can also be lost sometimes if you download large files and fill the tempory internet files folder they can get "pushed" out. If you really like them (i do) you can save them in a different folder and associate them to you favs and then they won't get "lost" Here is a method I posted on another board http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=102919

To find the icons that are in the temporary internet files folder, navagate to it and click the type (where the arrow is) to sort the files.

Hope all of this helps

Thanks Greg, that worked perfect! I know that the favorites icons are meaningless. but I like them.
