Looks like we found second gear last night..... Or at least enough to set Mobile Dragways new DR Record. The old record was set by Tommy Brewer of Spanish Fort (one of our team members) with an ET of 5.36 Last night we raised the bar to a 5.33
Never thought it would be this fast. Gotta love those big blocks..

A friend of mine has a 78 Malibu with a 522 BB chevy in it...300 shot fogger on top of it....I think it has the capabilities to run those kind of times,but he's an older gentleman and he's afraid of it...his best to date is 5.93 I believe, and he's skating all over the track. Our track record is 5.60 at this time. It could possibly fall this year,but seems more and more of the guys are going away from drag radials and moving to the true 10.5 class.

Our track is the same way Robert. The races I've been posting aren't drag radial races, they are called "Real Street" and they run on a true 10.5 tire. I don't have a pair of slicks so I just run my DR's.... So far we are still the fastest, so I can't see going out and buying new ones... (plus I can't afford it) Funny thing is the rest of the 10.5 guys are crying that my tires are wider than 10.5's so I'm sure there is a matter of time before they won't let me race anymore. I never heard of a guy running slicks and bitchin' about the other guy on DR's :confused:

I'd rather run slicks anyday,even though my best 60ft. ever has come with drag radials,they are just more consistent throughout the day. They are always going to cry and its always the loser doing the crying graemlins/thumbsup.gif :D congrats on the track record,good luck the rest of the year.

Holy Crap :eek: You've got one hell of a tune up on that fat motor. That is awsome, congratulations on the track record graemlins/hurray.gif . I'm curious, what brand EFI are you running and what mode does the injectors fire, ie batch, bank to bank, sequential?

The Nitrous is NOS, we spray it dry adding the extra fuel with the injectors. It's much easier use, and no extra plumbing. The A/F sits around 11.5 on the gas.... (Very Safe)
