Tony, I want to thank you for posting that. I nabbed your pic off the 'net somewhere a while ago, and never knew whos it was. Short of the wheels and obvious body lines, it's exactly what I want mine to look like, cowl hood and all.

Is that a steel or glass hood and by who?

The hood is glass and I think its made by Glasstech.

Tony Great looking Chevelle. I'm working on putting together a suspension package for my 69. So far your ride height is what i'm looking for.

Do you think you can put some words together on your suspension? What you used and maybe why? And maybe if you'd do anything different.

Again man nice looking chevelle.:beers:

The front suspension is Global West upper and lowers with QA1 coil-overs. The front spindles are standard height, not drop spindles. I am not sure about the front tire size off hand, but I can get that if you need it. The rear has stock springs and Hotchkis full rear suspension setup with a 12 bolt. The rear tire size is 275/50/15 Nitto drag radials and centerline 15x8 wheels with 5 inch backspace. I am very happy with how the car sits and how it handles. If you need any more info just let me know.
Thanks,
Tony

Tony, One more thing... My 69 Has a Vinyl top. (Not convertible) like your SS. Were SS's sold with that option?... Reason I ask is when i purchased my 69 it was badged with SS, and my VIN codes came back negative for type SS blood. :(

Anyone have any history on the Vinyl Hardtop? Was it just an option available? I think its actually a nice compliment to the body.
Thanks.

It is my understanding that on a 69 there is no way to tell if its a true SS by the VIN number. The only true way to tell is a build sheet. Also I have heard that if on the trim tag the original paint code shows Monaco Orange or Yellow, then its a SS as those colors were only available with the SS package. I do believe you could get the Vinyl top with the SS package. I think that back then you could have ordered just about anything you wanted on the cars.

Tony, Thanks for the info. I read that too about the 69 and up chevelles. You cant really tell its an SS by the VIN.
Anyway, Nice job with the Chevelle, Both TIMES!!:beers:

Antonio if your car was built in Canada it may have the option code for the SS on the trim tag.

oh ya, nice car too! What color is that?

EDIT:
WHich did you finally choose?
You said:
Ppg dark shadow gray metallic (yea it's a ford color) with either black stripes, or carbon fiber stripes (will use carbon fiber printed vinyl graphics)

ppg dark tarnished silver metallic (even darker than the previous color) with some sort of black or carbon fiber stripe, or maybe ghost stripes?

Thanks :D I ended up doing the dark shadow gray metallic, and then the stripes are the basecoat with 35% black mixed in, so they are kinda like a ghost stripe but a little more noticeable.

Put a link to more pics of it in my sig.
