Ok two questions for those out there!! First off, my tranny is buggin the hell outta me!! It works fine but it shifts WAAAYY too fast!! I go from 1-2 and then 2-3 (TH350 w/B&M street/strip shift kit i heard after installing it its not the greatest)! Any ways, i get into high gear around 35 MPH!! I talked to a transmission guy quite a while ago and i THINK he said the gov. might not be set right or the vac. modulator might be set wrong (this is me talking, i cant remember what he said, he does know what he's talking about and i could be wrong)!! But anyways any other ideas on what my problem might be, it shifts fine but just way to early for me and the RPMs arent even that hight, its not like im hammering it and it shifts quick! Also, im not sure what this was, but a couple days ago on 2 guys garage the old guy was adding some stuff to the tranny (and i cant remember what it was) he said it was really good for them, maybe helps them run cooler and shift better! I cant remember what it is, any ideas??
Lastly, i got a 12 bolt w/a eaton posi in it and i need some good diff fluid in it. It had some green tinted stuff in it when i got it but i dont know a good brand and what to use!! Any suggestions?? Thanks a lot guys!!!

My mechanic that rebuilt the whole tranny put the shift kit in (but like i said after that i heard that the B&M kit isnt very good, and he put it all in a once)!! And it was a different guy that told me what my problem probably is (they both are very reputible) but i just think it shifts too soon and this guy i said it is probably the governer, is strictly a tranny guy and builds some pretty wicked $%it!! Any ways, i found out the stuff from 2 guys garage, so that is a done deal!!
And i know the weight of the gear oil, i was just thinking that i heard you need gear oil specific to a limited slip diff!! Like ive said i could be wrong but prove me either way!! Thanks for the quick reply 2 cool!!!

Yea you need 140wt most gear oil is 85wt plus they make an additive you can add if it starts to grab when you turn.
As for the tranny it could be anyone of those things, the Governor will make it override your shifters settings and shift even if it's still in first, the modulator controls the shift pattern according to your engines vacuum ,you might want to check the hose going to it and make sure its on full manifold vacuum.
Also I would try driving it in low and see if it shifts up on it's own.

I would use the a good standard gear oil with the GM additive. There is A Amsoil product that works very nice as well.

The old Amsoil Sereis 2000 was blue. You could use the new Amsoil Severe Gear 75W90.

With 140 you wont need to add anything.
