Live and learn. I made the mistake of putting a high heat clear coat over my polished intake. Within 20 minutes, the whole intake had turned a sort of Bling-Bling gold.
What can I use to strip the clear coat without etching the polished aluminum.

Most auto parts stores carry AIRCRAFT apint remover. Put a thick coat on with a brush, stroking in one direction only. Let sit for 20 minutes and blast off with high pressure water. And don't get any on Ya!
Zoops makes a protective 'stuff' for polished aluminum. It's $200 though!
