I hope this doesn't get pulled due to being an ad. I have absolutely zero to do with this car or its owner. I just saw it and had to share it with everyone!

1200lbs car with 1400hp... I hope it comes with Depends!

Who has the quote in their sig about "no true hotrodder being satisfied until hitting the accelerator results in instant death?"

I think this would nearly meet those requirements...

I had one of those when I was 17, it was a 74 with a 4 banger... going uphill the car wouldn't go past 35mph.

Years ago there was a racer that had one like this. It was in a magazine... he hit the throttle and literally did a back flip in the car. Said he would be back with more power and wheelie bars.

That is insane. But why a powerglide? With that much power only way to go is a 4 speed. :)

So apparently that chassis weighs only 500 lbs or so total, or less? O_o Very cool none the less.

There's actually a pair of those Dodge Colts with blown motors running around here on cruise nights. Two brothers. One's a smallblock, one's a big block, IIRC. Haven't seen them in a few months.

Interesting claims for sure, "maybe" the truth has been fudged a bit. More likely that the e.t./mph claims were extrapolated from 1/8th mile incremental. Way too short on wheelbase for 170 mph dragstrip passes - that car is destined for top end spins with all that weight up front. What really set me off was the bogus 1,200 lb weight claim. Folks, that is a cast iron block and heads early hemi - no thin wall casting there! The blower, engine, and trans are easily 750lbs. Not much chance that all the rest of the car, even a small car like the Colt, only weigh in at ~ 450lbs.

Still, I dig the CarTOONS come to life appearance of that car.

I emailed the guy, he said 1,200 pounds minus the motor, still that must put the car at 1,900 pounds or so, that is insanely light for that kind of power

Okay, 1,200 lbs before the iron lump with lung is added, now that is far more believable. The only remotely similar size vehicle that I know the weight on is a '69 Opel GT tube frame BBC. There is nothing on the Opel, its just a body shell on top of a drag car. With aluminum heads and no blower it weighed 2,360 lbs. Drove in it once - that was fun!

There was an Opal Manta around here I saw a few years ago with a 454 but it was naturally aspirated. Not that, that wouldn't have been scarey enough!

Shoot, what's better......this or my idea of a 496 big block in a tubbed/caged/wheelie barred Chevelle?
