: 1969 chevelle first car
csmnlm Apr 13th, 07, 2:12 AM My first car was a 1969 chevelle malibu, with a 350. And I still own it. I'm 34 years old and have no plans on selling it. I have built the 350 with 194 double hump heads heads, 10-1 pistons, a wolverine blue racer camshaft, Elderblock performer Rpm intake with a holly 650 double pumper, a turbo 350 trans with Shift kit and 4-10 rear end (posie). what do you think it will do at the track? My best time was 14.5 before adding the gear ratio and posie unit. The stock ratio was 273. I plan on keeping this car street legal. with street tires. Tell me what you think.

obseSSed Apr 13th, 07, 6:13 PM I think 69's are awesome and you are doing well to have your car so long. Welcome and Congrats ....My first car I bought was a 70 SS in 1977. I have since had a 72 SS 402, a 69 malibu 350 and my present car...a 69 SS that I have had since 1985. :beers:
csmnlm Apr 13th, 07, 6:53 PM I ran the 14.5 with the stock rear in it. I since have replaced the rear with the 4-10 posie unit.

csmnlm Apr 29th, 07, 10:32 AM I got a chance to run my car at the drags yesterday my best time was a 14.1 at 96mph. (through the exhaust) I just baught a set of MT sportsmans to help me hook up better. I got 11 runs in and most of them were 14.25 range. I dropped my tire presure to 16psi this seemed to work the best. I was afraid to go any lower i didn't want to have a tire blow out. I was a little unhappy with this time. The car ran good. My 60 foot times were any were from 2.13 to 2.19. I think this is were I can inprove the most. I have a stock converter but power break it to about 1500 rpms to launch.
