I need to replace all of my body mounts on my 67. I have heard that the Poly mounts can cause a very rough ride. Has anyone done this and just how rough is the ride? I can handle some stiffness, but still want a decent ride. Thanks everyone.

Hmmm...I need to replace mine and have the same question, though I already have the Poly's all the way around.

Maybe this needs to be posted in the brakes/suspension forum?

Well.... I posted it there also. Time to go over and see if I have any responses. I think there is no doubt the car would be stiffer and feel better in the turns, I just don't want it to ride like an old dump truck.

I just put all original back in mine. I read alot of post of how rough the ride was and I didn't want that.
The rubber that was in mine was still in good shape, but might have been changed before.

I got a set of poly body mounts with a full bushing kit from energy suspension.

For some reason, as much as we fiddled with them, they just didn't seem to fit right.

I ended up buying a set of rubber ones from OPG. New rubber ones seem to be just fine.

have the polys in my '68. It depends on your tollerance level. I can definetelly feel the road more. It is rougher than rubber, but I like a smooth ride and they do not bother me at all. I would say that "very rough ride" is not true, not in my case anyway. I would not be able to put up with that.

I heard a big factor is the car itself and its size. for example, you wouldn't want to put polly on an early nova unless it was a drag car. it would be way too stiff. a 70 chevelle on the other hand would be perfect to put poly on. thats what I heard atleast...
