does anybody make a steel hood for a 65 ,any recomendations for a cowl hood,i am very picky about the fit, :confused:

did you check goodmark? they make nice steel hoods that bolt on just like o/e.

Goodmark's website doesn't list a hood for 64 or 65 yet, at least not a cowl hood. I made my own, out of my stock hood, it wasn't hard. One thing I'd do different next time is to make the frame out of 1/2" round tube, so the edges have a softer curve to them. Not that I don't like it as is, because the rest of the car does have sharper body lines, so it does match good. Watch the heat when welding, I had a bit of warpage on the top when I was done, because I got in a hurry. I was skipping around stitching about an inch each spot, at least 2 feet away from the last, but it still was too much heat too fast. graemlins/angry.gif graemlins/clonk.gif I worked it straight, though. Any competent shop should be able to do the work for you if you don't have the means. Easier yet, Goodmark does sell steel cowl scoops. You won't get the same results, though. They're shorter. I like the full length look of mine, so do people who see it.
