I have a '66 ss. It is always garaged. I want to get a cover to keep off dust etc. I notice that there are a lot of different kinds with really different price ranges (the catalog I have is from California Car Cover company)

What are the important points to consider? I want a good cover, but don't want to overpay. Anyone had good/bad experience with different ones?

Thanks,

Gerald

Well Gerald, the best advise I can give is go for quality. If you deal with CCC that is what you will get. If it is strictly for indoor use you really don't need all the high tech fabrics which can be used outdoors, a tan flannel one or similar is superb and very reasonable. It has a nice soft fabric against the paint which seems to be your main concern. However, don't let it get wet - it will weigh a ton.

Good luck.

They do make a car "Bubble" which I would say is best for long term storage! It will keep out rodents etc... for short term make sure you get a nice soft inside liner to the cover so it doesn't scratch your baby up http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I always buy the evolution 4 material... its nice and soft on the paint, plus its tough as nails, totally dustproof, and if you ever (god forbid) had to let your car outside overnite, its great outdoor protection, even in rain. Mine all stay inside too, but for the few extra bucks over the cotton or flannel covers, i think its worth it. I personally think the bubble deal is more of a gimmick than anything else... but hey, thats just my opinion.

Spend the money get a good one. When I first got my Chevelle I picked up a light wieght silky material cover from Wal-Mart what a joke,it doesn't scratch the paint but when I take it off the car is solid dust, the cheap ones dont protect anything.Get a good one.
