I installed this on my Chevelle because I like the way it looks. The guy who makes these did his first one to try to help airflow over his radiator in a big block Chevy. His thoughts were to force the air that would normally go up through this area over the radiator and help cool the thing down. It's made of anodized aluminum and uses existing holes for mounting. I don't have a overheating problem, never did, I just like the clean looks. Your opinions are welcome, good or bad. BTW, it doesn't contact the hood when the hood is down so it doesn't get scratched up at all.

I couldn't tell you if it works for cooling because I didn't buy it for that, I bought it for the clean looks. In theory it should at least help divert air through the radiator vs. up and over it. My car runs about 180 to 190 on the hottest days here in Florida. With my old radiator (stock) I ran 210 once sitting in a gas line after a hurricane.
