I have today off and im still shopping for a commuter car, an older Civic or 60's vw... (yeah yeah) not what we're here for :) Anyways I got half way and decided not to check this car out, I stopped for gas and took the medium/cruise way home. At the gas station right when pulling in my temp guage zoomed from 200 to 235 in a matter of a few seconds! Scared the hell out of me. I look under my car and there is coolant/ water dripping pretty steady. I swore it was coming behind the balancer/ front seal. Thats the last THING I NEED! I get home and inspect more, pull off my hood... turns out its the back seal on the waterpump! I AM SO RELIEVED! This pump is probably the same age as my 454 I built up... 18-20 months? Its just a stock pump from Kragen, cooled well.. I want an electric but my electrical system isnt up to par for something to be added... should I just throw on another Kragen rebuild? What are you guys running on daily driven big blocks?
Glad I made it home...
