Hello all,

I've just got done putting the body of my 66 SS back on the chassis. I noticed as I dropped the front after securing the rear of the body that the front is sitting about 1/2" above the mount on both sides. I've tried looking to see if the body if hitting anything but nothing is obvious. Is it possible that my body is warped. I've had it on a rotisserie for the past 2 years. If I push on the it, the body will hit the mount but I don't want to force anything.

Has anybody heard of this happening? How do I check this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Corey

I took a peek at you signaturs web page,, and YES with the body suported at the front and rear over that perioud of time, ,it can take a SET ( sag) in that position

the FIX.. not a problem... Alinge the body and bolt it down,, check the door fit B-4 and After.

Well, I didn't check the fit of the doors when I took it off, but I will check it after I put the doors back on. I hope when I bolt everything tight its alright.

Thanks so much for the replies.

If your as old and overweight as I am, yeah you're probably warped right around the middle of the body.

Sorry, couldn't resist :D

If you snugged down the rear bolts real tight you probably pulled the front up a bit. Loosen those rear bolts a little and see if the front comes down. If it does then you need to snug all the bolts up a little at a time like torquing a manifold using the assigned cross pattern. In your case you will need a creeper so you can shuffle around under thee taking a turn or 2 in front and then the back and then the front and catch a middle one every now and then on you way to the rear. Eventually you will have them all at the correct torque and you will be a little dizzy.

Seriously if you snugged those rear bolts too tight and collapsed the bushing too much it will pull the front up a little bit.

Good Luck
