Can anyone give me the dimensions for the D96 side stripes on a 69?
My body guy is going to paint them and I want to be sure we get them exact.
Also, any close ups of how the finish at either end?
Thanks,
I don't have dimensions but I'd HIGHLY recommend NOT painting them on. The originals were vinyl and most repros are excellent quality and fairly easy to install. About $100 at any Chevelle parts vendor. BTW just about every painted on '69 SS stripe job I've seen stuck out like a sore thumb. Not original appearing at all. And once they're on, they're on to stay. With vinyl if you make a mistake they're easy to remove. Just my .02.

I guess I am just worried about the longevity of vinyl. I mean what happens if they start to lift after time...then what?
If this is no issue then I would do the vinyl thing..
Thanks Von.

its a non issue, dont paint it. the vinyl quality is good. that particular stripe painted on would definitely stand out for the wrong reasons.

My original vinyl stripes still look good after 38 years. I'd recommend the aftermarket stripes. Many friends have used them with great results. They are about $75/ set.
