I was wondering how thick is a original 68 chevelle windshield. I have a new one for mine and don't know if its thinner then the original. I need to know so i get the right thickness tape for putting it back in.

not sure about the thickness, but I had my new one put in professionally, $150 including the glass, and they did it in my garage...on Saturday... He did such a good job I had him do the rear glass too!

Just something to consider. I know there are plenty of old-schoolers that prefer the tape, and I guess it's not for people doing "correct" restorations, but for me it was the way to go!
