Hope you guys have a great weekend.

Jason, as you know, I won't be able to make it that weekend- but I'll personally give anyone that runs better than, say, a certain 67SS coupe or a certain 69 SS convertible, a hearty thumbs-up!!!

Troublemaker, aren't I?? :D

lol. the certain 67SS coupe isn't anything but garage worthy at this point. So you'll be thumbing just about anybody who can push their car faster than I. I'm predicting upper 12's with the convertible, if I can get the parts for the carb quick enough.

?? What carb parts do you need? I may have a few...

I like running @ byron as its only a hour away.
I haven't even lifted the cover off the '67 yet this year and I do want to pull the heads for new springs, valves etc.. just freshin up the 215's as I havn't touched the mill since being rebuilt in '88 and springs need replacing.
I do plan on going to byron later this year and will check to see when the northern il.chevelle club plans on being there.
A few years back returning from a work semminar in chicago we ate at a cafe in huntley right on 47.

Good to know there's another local guy with a Velle Brett, maybe we'll see you at Jefferson this weekend. Keep an eye out on the www.ChevyTeam.com site under midwest club gatherings or my signature line for upcoming events. Several members from all of the TC sister sites participate and we get together several times a year and it's always a good time. jason.

So, off the record, what would it take to consider something a 'bump'.

If I were, say, the originator of this thread, would it be considered a bump, or just providing no substance to the matter at hand? Where does one draw the line?

Oh, dang, will this thread get bumped accidentally anytime I respond to it? Is that how this works? So the theoretical rantings should just stop now?? ;)

You guys can test the traction of those all-weather slicks. ;)

Actually, I forgot it was next weekend - I was thinking last night that you were heading out today for some reason.

ok you guys... Byron is close to just about everywhere, so let's saddle up and have some fun!

I talked to Jason last night, he seems to think he can beat my vert this year (he couldn't last year) I personally think the improvements I made in traction will more than offset his power improvements, so we'll see.

I just hope I don't get carried away and spit the driveshaft out again. Tom is still getting his new 383 together, so his trailer won't be there to get me home!

Weather's looking good right now. 70's and sunny, and hopefully the forecast will remain. Come on out and watch Jim break things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not records obviously. :D

Welp the weather looked like it wouldn't cooperate this morning, but I'm glad we went cause it turned out to be an OK day. definately time for the improvements I intended upon doing before I went today. Best ET 13.90 spinning the tires for 60 feet. still not too bad for a 25.5" tire and a 3.07 rear gear.

Glad you guys all had fun! I'll make it out one of these days, just got too much happening right now.

Honestly Mark, I still believe that to be possible with a 3.73 the right parts for the carburetor and some good tires, although probably not much better than a 12.90 something. If I didn't bounce down the track, I could have been mid 13's today.;)

So you weren't able to get a hold of those rods you were looking for?

I'm just kidding around - great to get out there regardless of your times - funny how much work it can take to get everything just right, isn't it?

the parts would need to come from 2 seperate suppliers in CA each wanting 13-16 to ship 15 dollar parts. They wouldn't have gotten here in time anyways, so I put it off for now. Not funny Mark; SAD!!!!!:p BTW I never take you seriously dude.
