Well, I've been spending all my free time in the garage working on the Chevelle. I've made quite a bit of progress, but there is still a ton of work to do. Below are some updated pictures. At this point I have almost all the exterior trim, lights and bumpers back on the car. I've also cleaned/painted the floorboard, installed the firewall insulation pad and got the heater back in the car. Next step is to wire up and install the dash. Then I can work on the brakes/clutch and steering column. I took a sawzall to my new floors over the weekend to add clearance for the T56. I hated to do that because they looked so nice, but once I get done you will never know they have been cut ;)

Thanks, Rob. What have you been up to? Haven't seen or heard from you in a while? What's your hotrod of choice these days?
Rob

Thanks, Garrett. I took a personal day on Friday. I worked all day Friday, Saturday and part of the day Sunday (I know, shouldn't be working on Easter) on the car. I was able to get a lot done during that time. My dad and brother were over yesterday and helped me hang the bumpers. It's a good thing, that's definitely a three man job!

Hehe, I hear you Todd. I'm choming at the bit to get behind the wheel. The only real unknown at this point is the EFI stuff. The BigStuff 3 doesn't have any baseline tune, so I'll have to write a program from scratch. Hopefully it won't be too difficult :D

Thanks, WildMan. Yes, I replaced the ProSystem dominator (dyno time only) with EFI. I've decided that I won't be racing this car much anymore, so EFI made more sense to me. You're right, this is far from the cheapest build on record. In fact, it may be one of the most costly

Thanks, Jerry. When is the Peachstate show? I've only been to one before. Are they still having them at Gainesville College? I would like to make it out if the car is running by then.

If you can post pictures of the floor when your done. Anytime a cutting tool gets into my hands it looks like a hack job.

Ken,
Why don't you ask John Meaney for something close to start that monster up? Or the dealer you bought it from? You don't want to start out with absolutely nothing. You'll be chasing too many things. Or post on some websites that have BS3 users and see if someone can send you their tuneup. Something close in injectors size at least.

Will do. I should have it finished either this coming weekend or the following weekend.

Good idea, Doug. I sent an email to the BS3 support alias. Hopefully they can give me something to get the engine up and running. Then I can try tuning it from there.

You even put the heater back in? Wow, what's next, cruise control?
I also would like to see pics of your floor cuts and finished product when you are done.
Keep up the good work. That car is going to look great when it gets back on the road.

Rob, glad to hear your still into the hobby. Look forward to seeing your new project at some point.

Thanks, Jim. A/C isn't out of the question. I'm hoping it will have decent street manners with the double OD tranny.

Jerry, I would love to bring the car out to the show. I'm not sure if I'll have it running by then, though.

Thanks! I can't take credit for the firewall. I left that to the body shop. They did a great job on it.

Thanks, Billy. The injectors are 83lb Precision Injectors. The ECM is a BigStuff 3. I'm considering getting a custom harness made by wires and pliers:

http://www.wiresandpliers.com/harnesses.html

The downside is they charge $750 to modify the harness I already own  I really like that connector they use. Would look much nicer than the rubber grommet that came with the BS3, but $750 is a lot of bones.

A/C??? Wow, my motor would probably overheat if I through that in front of my radiator. Although there are times I wish I had it. Gets hot with that black interior.
