I called Ground Up today to put a order in for a full gm quarter panel for my 72 coupe.I was hoping to save some freight charges by having them bring it to the Northeast chevelle show on June 22 in Northeast ,Md. Ground Up's salesman told me that no quarters would be available until late summer, as they are on backorder.Anyone have any comments on this?I really didn't want to wait til the end of the summer to get my car back on the road.Has anyone near the Maryland or Virginia or Pennsylvania areas had any better luck with a different Goodmark distributor that would have this part in stock? I wouldn't mind driving a few hours to save a 100 bucks on freight charges.Whats the real story here? Thanks in advance for any input anyone can provide. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif

You could always call Goodmark and get the skinny on them. They were on backorder when I went to order them for my 72 as well. I called Goodmark and spoke to someone. I found some locally though before they did the next production run. http://www.goodmarkindustries.com

You may want to try Austley's, they're at http://www.chevelle.com

Hope you're still coming to the show http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

If you look on the Goodmark site and look for the distributors, I think that there is one in the Frederick area, it is a Pontiac place, but they might get them for you.

progress has little to do with speed, but lots to do with direction.

I did call the pontiac place that is in Fredrick about a month ago.they said they only order from Goodmark if they can get enough advance orders from people to total over $3000.00 to get free shipping from Goodmark. They took my info and said they would call me if they could get the orders they needed, but they never did call back. Hey Noneck, where in Pa. did you get your quarters from? I'm on a tight budget and would really not have to pay 150/200 bucks to have them trucked to me. I'm going to call Goodmark after I post this thread to see what's up with the availability of these pieces. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif

Goodmark runs them off in batches a couple of times a year. If inventories are depleted, you end up having to wait until they run off the next batch. Year One, Ground Up, and the other major suppliers have to wait as well, before they can restock.

Just got off the phone with the salesman at Goodmark.Their stamping facility is in Michigan, and he told me that they are several weeks late in getting out their shipments . He told me he thinks it should only be maybe three weeks until they arrive.Guess I'll just have to keep calling every week checking until they come in. What a bummer! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/mad.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/mad.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/mad.gif
