We have a guy that comes to our dealership to do this. It takes a couple hours and he charges $300. Pretty good alternative to replacing a $3,000 windshield on a car with HUD, but for a classic car, i wouldn't bother. I had a brand new windshield delivered and installed in my '71 Elky for $200.

I just saw a product for this in my new Summitt catalog. Check out Summit item # SUM-905030 ($34.69) and see if this will do what you are asking.

Had wiper scratches in the windsheild of my Nova, bought a glass buffing kit from Eastwood and it came out great. If you are thinking of doing that I would practice on a piece of junk glass first. P.S. My neighbor is a very picky car nut and he couldn't believe how well it turned out.

I've read some good reviews on this board about this company. I want to get there window treatment myself for the hard water stains that accumilated over the past 36 years on my Velle.

A slurry of cerium oxide with a very dense wool pad is made just for this purpose. Glass companies use it. It won't take out scratches, but will polish to perfection.

I am looking into the same options for my 69 Chevelle side and rear clear glass and ran across a product called Janvil. If you do a Google search you find some good info. I read the reviews on the Eastwood product on their website and they were pretty negative. I also will practice on a piece of junk glass

Do you think this product would take out sander scratches from side glass? Someone who owned the car before me got carried away with a sander and hit the side glass. Thought it may be easier to buff out than replace it with correctly coded glass. What do you think??
Thanks guys!

<BR>, the Janvil products seem to have the best solutions and results as per their website. I am going to practice on a piece of crap glass and see. One of the polishes can take out a nail grabbing scratch. My problem is my SS was born with clear glass and I have'nt been able to find replacement glass to even date code. If it works I can save my glass or be forced to get tinted which I hate to do.
