: Saw "Grindhouse" this weekend
Byfield Apr 7th, 07, 6:05 PM
REALLY cool movie, well, 2 movies - it's a double feature. Over 3 hours long, killer car chases in the 2nd feature, total throwback to old movie styles, cheesy dialog, and hot women. What more could you want for $5? :D
Anyone else see it?
blu66velle Apr 7th, 07, 11:15 PM GREAT flick !! , loved it
chevguy65 Apr 8th, 07, 9:57 AM I have been watching the trailers...guess I better go see it.

MEJ1990TM Apr 8th, 07, 10:14 AM Death Proof made me sad. What did the Nova, Charger, and Challenger to do anyone. Two of my three favorite cars are mopars. 1968 Charger R/T is #2. The 1970 Challenger R/T is #3. But don't worry the '70 SS Chevelle is still #1. :D

Yeah but what a chase! I saw in a review that it's almost totally real - hardly any computer graphics. And Zoe Bell (the blond on the car) did a hell of a job with her stunts.
Slowpoke70 Apr 8th, 07, 7:38 PM It didn't make me sad to see the cars get bent up. I'm a hot rodder, we drive them fast and hard, sometimes they get banged up. How many get crashed in racing every year? A few cars is nothing compared to what happens at drag strips and street races every year or even month.
MEJ1990TM Apr 8th, 07, 11:58 PM Wrecking them when you are actually enjoying them is one thing. But just wrecking a car for Hollywood, that makes me sad. During the "Vanishing Point", and "Gone in 60 Seconds" (the original one) days they were around all the time. Oh well.
kacp-o Apr 9th, 07, 12:43 PM Fantastic movie - I think I actually liked Planet Terror a bit more than Death Proof, but they were both a blast. I did some reading about Zoe Bell, the woman who is on the car in Death Proof - she is quite an impressive stuntwoman. No CGI whatsoever in the car chases...apparently she was Uma Thurman's stunt double for the "Kill Bill" movies - and she can certainly act. Looks like she's got a great future!

It was the matinee (sp?) showing
1BLACKHARLEY Apr 9th, 07, 1:42 PM It was the matinee (sp?) showing
the matinee here costs me $17.50 for two, a soda and a few munchies and it was a $30 afternoon...loved the movie, my wife hates horror flicks, but we laughed threw the whole thing, and the car chase actually had her on the edge of her seat, she loved watching kurt get his ass kicked....we will actually be on a lot of those roads this weekend, on our way to cambria, we recognized a lot of the terrain and roads, we ride threw there several times a year...
MEJ1990TM Apr 9th, 07, 6:44 PM I wonder what the owner of that Challenger said when the car came back. And if he got what was promised to him when they took the car. :p

CAElky Apr 9th, 07, 9:59 PM That movie was great! A little gruesome at times, but overall great flick! :beers:
I didn't wanna leave at the end. I wanted to see more! :D
66ElkyBB Apr 9th, 07, 10:30 PM I even liked the previews in between the two movies. Can hardly wait to see the new Nazi movie "Werewolf Women of the SS"
MEJ1990TM Apr 10th, 07, 9:59 AM Those previews were fake. But they still looked like they could be entertaining movies. :) The same thing happened to me I didn't want to leave the theater I wanted to watch them again.

From what I've read, "Machete" (the preview with Danny Trejo) is in production and Rob Zombie has expressed interest in doing the Nazi flick. I thinkit depends on how Grindhouse does and if they can justify more of them
