How do you attach (or with what sealant) the quarter window chrome to the quarter window?

Some guys use silicon ,but to make it original I went to a glass shop and got some butyl tape. It's about an inch wide. You drape it over the glass then tap the chrome on over it till it bottoms out. Then trim the excess with a razor blade....
