: Big honkin Snake
D Stroud Apr 5th, 07, 11:06 AM Seems a sheep farmer was puzzled about the disappearance of some sheep on his farm. After a few weeks the farmer decided to put up an electric fence.
About a week later, this is what he found!

Now, I know we've all heard of people being eaten by snakes & I bet most of us have said,
"If a snake tried to eat me, I'd blah, blah, blah & get away.
Well, this is a Python & they're extremely aggressive & have a few teeth that they use to
hold their prey while they wrap around them & then constrict.
Could you get away if this one bit you & held on with it's "few teeth?" (Note: the wires are 10 inches apart.)

sick65 Apr 5th, 07, 11:27 AM If I ran into that snake, he better hope he could swim. Because I'm pretty sure I would piss down both legs.
1BLACKHARLEY Apr 5th, 07, 11:30 AM that has been floating around the internet for years, along with the aligator with the deer in it's mouth. even though it's been confirmed some of it was photoshopped, they do get that big, we have one locally at the college. now, the farmer probably wouldn't really notice too much loss, because if this thing ate a goat, he wouldn't have to eat for several weeks, he'd loose more to coyotes.
LateNight72 Apr 5th, 07, 11:41 AM Or, there is this, real occurence. Happened in the Everglades, about 20 minutes from my house...

dreis454 Apr 5th, 07, 11:44 AM ^^OK what is that??
popbirch Apr 5th, 07, 1:03 PM its an anaconda that ate a croc, and then the snake sort of popped. Apparently they are becoming quite a problem in florida, too many people have bought them and let them go, no there a whole bunch of them down there.
ChaosEnvy Apr 5th, 07, 1:04 PM ^^OK what is that??
That is what I was thinking.. Some snake crocodile hybrid... wth..
Crock busted loose in center of the snake?
Huh?

No doubt!!LMAO at that one!
Hughski Apr 5th, 07, 2:29 PM A coworker was telling me about the alligator with the deer in its mouth last year. He was pretty animated when telling me the story and said "The alligator was swimming with a real, life-sized deer in its mouth!"
I looked at him with a grin and said "Life-sized deer, huh? As opposed to....what?":D

An alligator was caught and swallowed by a 20'+ Burmese Python. The gator then began to start kicking (nerve twitches, from being dead), it ripped the snake apart from the inside out...
MEJ1990TM Apr 5th, 07, 4:37 PM Crazy stuff:eek:
chevelledude71 Apr 5th, 07, 5:00 PM I got two words for that....HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. :)

They did a story about that on Discovery or Animal Planet or Dateline or something a few months ago. It's definately true, they say the croc usually wins, but in this case uh uh. Like was said, those snakes aren't native to the everglades and they are becoming a HUGE problem for local wildlife.
ChaosEnvy Apr 5th, 07, 5:23 PM Crocs have taken down bigger animals than a deer by themselves.
Have you seen the one where the Tiger kicks the Croc/Alig's A$$?
pdq67 Apr 5th, 07, 7:50 PM Some time ago, I read a news story on the web where a pet snake got loose and killed a baby and was found trying to eat it!!
Talk about some "Parents" feeling down in the dumps, imho!!
Is a pet like that worth it??
As well as all the pit bulls that tear inta people all the time.....

Greybeard Apr 5th, 07, 8:37 PM Strange nobody noticed, but that is NOT an electric fence.
pdq67 Apr 5th, 07, 8:49 PM Sure it is IF it used notched f/g rods!!
And that's what they look like b/c the notches are too big for Re-bar..

BlackBetty Apr 5th, 07, 9:18 PM check out the mouth pic of the snake........THEN look back at the girth of the snake under the fence for a REALity check on HOW big that rascal is.
704EVER Apr 5th, 07, 9:54 PM That snake battle was right down the street from me also and all over the news down here. Two years prior to that there was a game warden in the swamp and he heard a rucus and went to investigate. A 10 foot gator grabbed a 18/20 ft. snake in the mid section and the snake turned and wrapped the gator. It was on the news live all day, after 27 hours the gator released it's grip, the snake let go and they both went on their merry way. The headline in the paper the next day was "Now who's king of the swamp"?

Right now it's Billy Donovan. :)

Aaahaa! He's in Gainesville, there ain't no real swamp up there.
dittoz Apr 5th, 07, 10:29 PM I have no problem with the snake - seen many a TLC or Discovery show aqbout giant snakes. The story doesn't work for me...
A snake of that size eats maybe once every couple months, if that. No farmer would "put up a fence" soley on the basis of losing a couple sheep per year. There's plenty of other reasons...
In any case, that's one helluva a snake!
Chris R Apr 6th, 07, 4:25 AM I remember that same pic of the snake being posted on here before. Isnt that story several years old now? Still pretty crazy to see it even now.
chevl71 Apr 6th, 07, 7:44 AM I never heard a snake say "ugh, I think I ate too much!":D

No, this happened not too long ago.
53Chev Apr 6th, 07, 10:23 AM An alligator was caught and swallowed by a 20'+ Ball Python. The gator then began to start kicking (nerve twitches, from being dead), it ripped the snake apart from the inside out...
20 foot Ball Python? ROTFLMAO!!!!!
I own a Ball Python and they DO NOT grow to 20 feet in length. They eat rats and mice and rarely grow to anything more then 5 feet. Mine is only 4 feet. They are one of the best snakes to own as a pet and are very docile (when captive bread). Some Pythons do grow to 20 or so feet long but not Ball Pythons. My Python is named Koko (and NO I am not referring to the Python between my legs!).
BLU69 Apr 6th, 07, 10:50 AM Strange nobody noticed, but that is NOT an electric fence.
The fence the snake has its mouth on is not electric, The ones on each side of the snake are.

Wow, I was thinking Burmese, but for some reason I typed Ball. :o :clonk:
Anyways, we have Balls get in the 7-8 foot range down here. Must be a Canadian thing... ;)
53Chev Apr 7th, 07, 12:12 AM Well according to you americans, (who come up to Ontario in the middle of a summer heat wave asking for directions to the nearest ski hill), you beleive we live in Igloos year round. It must be the harsh climate inside our igloos that stunt the growth of our ball pythons.
pdq67 Apr 7th, 07, 12:14 AM I think onna the all time prettiest snakes there is, imho, is a 5 foot long Black Snake!
And next a bright green little old Tree Snake like I had in our back yard over in the old neighborhood!!
Sucker would climb up a tree in a heartbeat as I watched it!! What a hoot!! I even called my kids over ta watch it climb the tree!!
