I have 1970 el camino with cowl induction hood. Its not an SS model,the hood was added.

The hood has what I think is weak spring or hinge or both?? When open it barely stays up and feels like it will come down at any moment. Not good when working under it...

My catalogs from Year One and National Parts Depot show springs for reg hoods and another spring for SS hoods. I ordered the SS springs but they were too short for hinges on the truck.??

The catalogs only show one hinge for all models.
