We are restoring a 72 Heavy Chevy that the build sheet says should be blue with black stripes. We got this car already "in progress"... It had already had some body work and was in grey primer. So we have no idea of what the origional stripes looked like. We have been ordering most of the parts from Year One. We ordered a Heavy Chevy stripes and decal set and when it arrived the stripes they sent (boxed by Stencils and Stripes Unlimited) did not match what Year One has pictured in it's catalog! I called Year One and the guy I talked to insisted that the ones they sent are correct and said I shouldn't believe the pictures in their catalog because "it's not a Bible ma'am" (I was not amused!)I've since been looking around the Net trying to find out what the stripes are really supose to look like! I've seen a wide stripe bordered by one narrower stripe on each side, a wide stripe bordered by four progressively thinner stripes that look "strobe like", then there are the ones we were sent that are one wide stripe with five stripes on each side getting progressively thinner and all are straight. I even saw one pic that showed wavy sripes with striaght stripes. Anyone know what the real stripes look like????
