I'm thinking about tacklin some body work on my '67. One of the things I'll need to buy is a grinder. I don't have a compressor (yet) so it will have to be a 110V type. Is this going to work? What do I want to look for as far as size, speed, features, etc? Thanks for any help.

I found out the CampbellHausfeld has some products you can get from their site for a good price. Check it out. Click on the Hot Buys section. They have a good compressor for $189 which I saw in HomeDepot for $300. You can get a D/A sander and other tools.

You realy need two, a 6" or 7" inch and a 4 1/2". But I seem to use the 4 1/2" the most. I have used grinding wheels, cut off wheels and sanding disc designed for the 6"/7" size on my small 4 1/2" Dewalt grinder, but I would not recommend that for the beginner.
Always wear a face shield and gloves. Loose clothing can be a problem too.
Air grinders take lots of air so unless you have an appropriate size and CFM compressor the electric ones are more practical.

Funny you should mention that. I had to buy one yesterday for a one-time odd job and throw the thing away. It's a nuclear thing. Anyway, I wanted a good one to get the job done quickly. I bought one at a pawn shop! for $60 I got a Mikita 15 amp 5/8" shaft 6,000 prm grinder that's in great condition. About $300 new.
