Sorry for the late question... but I have an urgent reason.

I Need to know if there is an EASY way to disconnect the vacum secondaries (disable the second two barrels) on my Holly Street Avenger 770.

Can I pull the spring from the actuator, or pull off the C clip and disconnect the actuator from the butterflies (will they stay closed on their own if i disconnect that? Don't want random opening either...)

I don't see any vacum lines to the actuator, looks like it bolts directly to the main body, must have a vacume line integrated...

I want to disable the secondaries to put a limit on the power output.

I'm taking the car in tomorrow to a Diff shop to have new rear gears & a posi installed. The ground is wet here right now, and i don't want someone "test driving it" and winding the motor up when the tires start spinning. I figure disabling the secondaries should help a bit.

I know its late, but an aswer before tomorrow moring would help a lot.

THanks!
Ben

Another idea.... What if i put duct tape around MOST of my open element air cleaner... Say leave about 6" open, but tape over the rest of it... Would that be enough for it to drive normally, but enought to kill it if someone tried to floor it???

I definitly wouldn't do that. I'm thinking that disabling the air/fuel mixture could lead to trouble, like a lean out detonation problem.

If you are that worried about the professionalism of the shop where you plan on taking your car I suggest that you find a more reputable shop.

With respect to the secondaries simply remove the vacuum pot, put a small piece of electrical tape over the vacuum orifice and reinstall the pot. No vacuum - no secondaries.

I think its more about me not trusting ANYONE... I've heard too many horror stories, so if there is anyway to safeguard something, I try to do it, even if its somewhere I trust. I would much rather be careful and over cautious, than have to be the next guy posting a horror story.

Anyway, I think I figured out my own solution... Moved the acc bracket all the way forward and put a couple zip ties on it to limit travel. Should solve the problem- and be easy to remove when i pick up the car. No way will it be going to WOT with those on there.

Double up on the secondary springs - that'll keep it shut!

On the quick change cover remove the O-Ring it will not pull enough vacuum to open them.
