: 23 T-bucket
1969ss396 Apr 1st, 07, 8:02 PM Just got thru driving a friend of mine's 23 t- bucket. It has a blown chevy 350, no doors, no roof, a windshield that may 12", and 15" wide Mickey Thompson Sportsmans. The car had drum brakes and manual steering, it was completely retro.
He came and picked me up, and we went to the gas station, and then he told me to slide over and drive. As soon as I was on the hwy he told me to hit it! He insisted that I drive it like I stole it the entire time I was driving!
I had a blast out on the open road hearing and seeing that 350 with the blower whine, great car! I f you have never driven one of these, you should not pass up on the opportunity. The car can't weigh over 2,000 pounds, and with a blown small block, that was REALLY responsive, you can only imagine!
MEJ1990TM Apr 1st, 07, 8:09 PM I have ridden in cars like that and I don't like them. With how light they are it doesnt take much for them to just lose it. There is nothing around you if you get in a wreck, and the one I rode in didnt have seatbelts in it. I don't mind the actual cars but I just feel leary about riding in them because of how safe they aren't.

Along with my old '74 Camaro, I want a bucket T car with a high winding 302 or 327 and a big cam.
PaPa Johns 77 Apr 2nd, 07, 12:28 PM That gives me an idea. There is a guy in Southern Illinois that had a t-bucket that was built in the mid 50s'. It has the Lincoln flathead 8 with three deuces three speed with overdrive. The car has been sitting in a barn since his brother died in Vietnam in 1965. If it is still there and probably is, maybe it is time to talk to him about it again. Last time I saw it we were talking about restoring it to operating condition but a few days later said he just couldn't do it right now. He was 5 years old when he lost his big brother and the last thing they did together before he left was go for a ride in it! Don't know, maybe I should just let it be.
Alwhite00 Apr 2nd, 07, 5:02 PM If someone GAVE me a t-bucket the first thing I would get for it is a for sale sign. I hate them. I'm sure he likes it & it's fast but if you wreck that thing kiss your a$$ goodbye. No protection at all, Hell even the bugs git you in the face.
