I would like to run the 402A7LUN cam made by harold.

* Advertised Duration IN/EX: 288/296
* Duration @.050 IN/EX: 255/263
* Gross Valve Lift IN/EX: .612"/.630"
* Lobe Sep Angle / Intake Ctr Line: 110/104
* Valve Lash IN/EX: .024"/.026"
* RPM Range: 3000-7000

I am running stock convert still and was wanting to know if the cam would be able to idle with the stock converter. I know I should buy a new converter, and I will. The season is about to start and I am going to do the transmission and the converter at the same time (ATI 8" treemaster). One reason I dont wana do the converter is I dont want to pull the trans right now. The other is that I am pretty sure I will go faster than the 11.5sec barrier with the ATI converter, and wasnt planning on doing the rollbar until next season.

Also I am fine that it will be a pig out of the whole, and I m running 4.11 gears if that helps.

So what do you guys think? Will it the cam be ok with a stock converter?

Brian. I think you answard it your self. It will be a pig out of the hole but should be OK.
Years back, I put a cam with a 288 A/D in a 350 powered nova with 3.73's and a stock converter. It was a pig off the line untill it got to about 2500rpm. Then it would come on hard.

I often wish mine was a "pig" out of the hole. My 460" motor hits the 3000 stall converter so hard that traction is non-existant in any gear at that RPM range.
