Hi all - Need some paint expertize on this one - just bought a 1970 Chevelle SS - is a beaut and was wet sanded 3 times - smooth as silk, EXCEPT in one place on the 1/4 panel near the trunk top....it has a small tear in the paint...and you can press down on her and it moves ::sigh:: Don't want/can't afford to repaint the 1/4 panel right now..any ideas on how to mend her for a few months?????

Forgot to add that she is covered and stored - so no worry about that.
Thanks for any help y'all!!!

Have a body shop you trust look at it. Sometimes very small problems may be greater than you think. You way want to wait to deal with until the $$$ are available. Enjoy the car for now.

I agree with ambition.. but as a part time fix (and I don't know if it is a good suggestion or not) try clear nail polish???

Thanks guys, and I must admit - I love your name on here "more ambition than brains" http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif I think I resemble that remark. Had thought about using clear nail polish also...and after I went to a body shop that is the best in town -not saying much here- found out the whole problem. ::sigh::
should of known to look more carefully - but was caught up in the moment of "OH LORDY IT'S MY DREAM CAR!!!!" Seems the guy who did the restoration spot welded the 1/4 panel on, did not seam it and didn't give it any lip for room to shift...and it is cracking all the way down the side. #$%(*&^$^& S000.....for now? Clear polish it is, unless I can figure something else out. The way it is now...if I don't..cannot even get her wet. Would allow moisture to get down in there and then it would hit the fan.
Again - thanks for all the help!!!
