I'm up grading to a SS dash in my '70. I have the cluster completed, waiting on a printed cicuit board. I have my dash out of the car and was needing to know what to use to clean it. What cleaners to use/not to use and what to scrub with. Thanks for the input.

Just did my dash and gauges last summer. It came out great! As you know there are many different aspects to cleaning and refinishing when doing the complete dash and gauges.

Regarding the dash plastic itself I just used 409 with a fairly stiff brush to scrub into the grain good. It is a mild (won't harm the plastic) but effective cleaner for that purpose. Then, rinse real good with water a couple of times.

We then fogged on (to avoid filling in the grain texture) some SEM landau black and it looks like new.

Thanks for the input. I will be cleaning it in a couple of days. I guess I'll find out then how good of shape the dash is really in. Good advice on touching up the paint on the dash if needed.
