I,m replacing the throttle cable on my sons 1971 chevelle. Does anyone know how this will conect to the pedel. The one on there now is off, and all I see is the cable with small metal end on it. It also has a plastic retainer on the petal. And help at all would be great. Thanks.

'there should be a slit in the plastic retainer grommet slip the cable through the slit and the metal stop cap will rest in the seat on the plastic retainer grommet.

Yep. Push the plastic retainer out of the pedal rod. Just did it myself last week. It's an easy job.
