My son's 74 SB Camaro is about done and is off to the junk yard. We have a 67 Malibu with a 427/th350. I was wondering if there are any parts from the Camaro that will swap over to the Chevelle? Brakes, Steering etc?

the spindles and discs will do the tall spindle conversion. Brake drums for the rear. 10 bolt axles will fit a 68 up chevelle 10 bolt, blower motor, switches would work more for a 70 up. chevelle, front sway bar fits a 68 up. steering column for 69 up. Strip it of all the nuts and bolts you never know when you'll need it. Jim

Brakes are not a direct swap, but you can do a 'tall spindle conversion'. Engine/tanny would be good to swap, if they are desirable (if stock they are smog pieces an probably not worth it).

Snatch the rear axle if you can. No it won't be a direct bolt on for a Chevelle but it's most likely an 8.5 which is a pretty desirable piece that can be resold for a few hundred....

Junkyard dawg, on camaros the 8.5 ten bolt rears are as desiriable as the 8.2 chevelle rears. They just made too many of them and you have a hard time giving them away. At least around here. Jim

WOW....ok I'll retract my statement. :o

I know they're a hot item for the G bodies and S-10 trucks, but they're both scarce, I figured one from a 2nd gen Camaro would be worth something to someone.....didn't realize they were that abundant.

Strip anything of value like AC stuff, any underdash ducting, shifter, seats, etc. The 74 interior is same up to 1981, and lots also interchanges with the Firebird (think Smokey and the Bandit). Save the tail lights, spoiler, grille (1 year I believe), marker lights/bezels, front bumper stuff (impact bumper with absorbers right?). It's all worth decent money.

I had a '74 as my first hot rod. I would love to have it back now.

fenders are the same for 70-77, 64 el camino just gave me a 10 bolt out of a camaro. they were produced from 71-81 in camaros, and firebirds, so theres probably a million of them. Fortunately I found a guy that wanted one as a spare, so I ended up giving it to him. now if its a 12 bolt thats a different story, but they only came in the 70s. jim
