My 69 chevelle has a rubber piece that runs the length of the cowl that the rear of the hood rests on when it shuts. It is not attached, just lying there, and I want to know the correct way to attach it.
Thanks.

I have a 69 also and I cant rember if it had the metal clips inside the rubber or not.
On my 70 it had the original rubber and it had metal clips inside the rubber.

My 69 came with rubber clips you had to install yourself.
I'm pretty sure my 69 has metal "T" shaped clips for the cowl rubber and hood-to-cowl weatherstrip. I'll check later today. If I remember right, these break easily taking them out. Repop stuff today uses plastic push-ins.

These are original cowl seal clips. The repro's are plastic. They did tend to rust over the yrs. I got my set from a donor car.
