: Aftermarket guage "options" for 1970 Chevelle

I just bought a nice malibu... I LOVE the SS style dash with the tach, but a little too pricey for me (Ground up has NEW complete for $1750! Ouch!)...

I have looked at the Covans, and about 1/2 the price)... Thought about the blank Covans and buying/installing my own guages...

Has anyone here installed aftermarket guages behind the stock SS gauge panel? I have seen it done on 67-69 Camaros and 69 Chevelles, but not on the 70-72 style... Just thinking the "repro" SS plastic face is about $300, just a bit higher than the bare Covans...

Anyone know what diameter the "stock" SS guages are?

Since this is my first time outside of '66, I have no idea what works... Or even what sizes the "stock" SS guages are...

Thanks

IMO hard to beat the covan's if you like that custom look!

I was noticing the Covan's is JUST the Guage area... But isn't the stock dash one large piece, all the way to the glove box, etc? Do you have to cut you stock dash?
