Wife dragged her feet on getting it done so now it is up to me. Who has had experiance in dealing with classic car insurance. I am looking for a decent company to insure my 66 Chevelle. I have contacted Hagerty already, they at least advertise that that is what they do. Any help?

I was with American Hobbyist, and I'm currently shopping quotes now.

Hagerty is good as long as you have a primary vehicle.

Hagerty has the least restrictions from what I seen. You can drive the car anytime except for work and store.

I have grundy, they are the most liberal with their regulations and they are great people to deal with.

I have Haggerty. They paid within two days of my accident. no questions asked.
Wanna see what they paid $24,569 for?
Look at the pictures in my sig line.

CRUZN69 , why did they pay an odd amount?
Did you have it insured for 24,569?
Did they give you the opportunity to buy it back?

Sounds like you have 2 companies to choose from. I chose Grundy, 1) they have an A+ rating with AM best (which is the highest-how they pay claims). 2) I also have personal experience on my other classic car-they had a check to me within a week of the accident for the damage incurred, by the drunk driver who hit me. 3) the body shop I dealt with said they sent out a "FAIR" adjuster to evaluate the claim and not the normal insurance guy who tries to discount everything off of the claim.

So for me its Grundy until they prove otherwise.

That was the amount of the estimate to repair the car. The car was repaired.
Haggarty had a bad day. I ran into the back of my friends 68 SS and he ran ito a 55 Nomad that ran into the back of a 41 Willys. All of us were insured by Haggarty.
